Llama badges are like smelly armpits, they give me this subliminal feeling of masculinity and achievement, yet they make me wanna go get a shower to get rid of them... well, I guess deviantart just made smelly armpits fashionable and taking showers is no longer an option!
Ok, serious now... I am sure many of you are, like me, a bit puzzled about all this llama madness. I mean really, we all know deviantart is for kids and deviantart loves making dollars. But why the heck llamas?
Llamas have been on deviantart ever since I joined this mental asylum. They'd pop up every here and there in an annoyingly large sized emoticon, meaningless and easily ignorable. But the hype since April fool's day finally gave these camelids a platform for world domination.
The llama emote has been on deviantart since 2005 if I am not mistaken. `neo-the-foxycoon apparently created it upon the request of `lemontea. And ever since, llamas have been an important part of life(?!?).
Nowadays, llamas have totally taken over the activity on deviantart. The HQ has graciously released a breakdown about the llama badge. So if you are ignorant and still don't know how to use them, you can find out here:
And if you want to earn some "points" (the new currency in this money grubbing operation called deviantart), there are actually some fellow loonies who are willing to pay for a llama!! Or maybe you are actually the loony who wants to pay to be llamalicious yourself... either way, you can do it here:
I actually joined the llamafication full on yesterday and gave EVERY SINGLE watcher and EVERYONE on my watchlist a llama-badge. Yes, I like to waste my time with spreading love and crap like this. However, despite myself not gaining a ninja-llama from it, I had a chance to peek at everyone's profile and this leads me to another awesome feature catalogue.
I want to introduce to you, four amazing photographers whose top notch work deserves a lot more attention. They all have mastered the art of capturing peaceful compositions of our everyday natural surroundings and they all have less then 25k pageviews. Go check them out, you will be delighted, I promise!!
